Never give up

by: Ken on Mon, Feb 25 2008

Within a few months of arriving in Australia from the UK I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer at age 71. My 1st Urologist was reluctant to operate due to a mild angina, although the Cardiologist said there was no problem. He offered brachytherapy but was unable to shrink the prostate to a treatable size. This and other matters did not inspire confidence, nor did the 2nd Urologist A 3rd in another city got my data badly wrong in two of his reports, again disappointment. Having read Dr Patrick Walsh’s book “Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer”, which inspired me to try yet again. I found a 4th Urologist who having done tests under general anasthesia [anaesthesia], was willing to operate. I had a Robotic Radical Prostatectomy two years ago and have never looked back - no problems! My advice is - NEVER GIVE UP, and Good Luck.
